MISSION (NEWS1130) – Charges have been laid against a Mission elementary school principal in connection to another a video posted by Fraser Valley Creep Catchers last month.

Abbotsford Police say 37-year-old Jason Obert is charged with child luring.

The video shows members of Creep Catchers meeting a man at the food court of an Abbotsford mall they say who showed up with the intention to meet an underage girl for sex.

Constable Ian Macdonald with Abbotsford Police says their investigation is limited to one incident.

“We have a long chain of communication that probably [goes for] a period of about a month. It relates to an engagement between the accused and a single individual.”

Police believe he has been on leave from his job since the video surfaced.

MacDonald is asking the public to use restraint.

“Sometimes when issues like this come to the forefront, especially when they go viral on social media, there will be people that will overstep and maybe move into the world of threats against the accused and or his family.”

Obert has been released with a number of conditions.
