VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The little girl who died after wandering away from a Mission home daycare last week has been identified online.
A GoFundMe page says 23-month-old Selena Chabara “was a healthy, fiery and loving little girl who was taken from this world tragically and far too soon.”
Last Wednesday, the girl was found unresponsive in a nearby backyard pool about 20 minutes after she went missing from the daycare facility. Despite efforts by police officers to revive her, she was pronounced dead in hospital.
The GoFundMe page has raised over 34,000 dollars for her family, who say they’re thankful for the prayers, love and support they’ve received.
The license of the daycare has been suspended as police and the health authority investigate the death.
