Cpl. Andrea Damgajin with the RCMP says the teen isn’t hurt.
“She’s absolutely fine. She has no injuries, she was even on her phone while she was waiting at the bottom for them to call out one of their roper guys to come down and get her,” she says.
She says someone called 911 from an area near the east side of the suspension bridge.
“Two hikers up at the falls had decided to repel down a crevice to the base of the top waterfall,” she says. “One of the hikers was able to climb back up, the other hiker tried and unfortunately it was too steep and slippery, and she slid back down and was stuck at the base.”
Police weren’t able to get her out, so they called the Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue.
All three teens are now safe.
