MISSION (NEWS 1130) – The Dewdney Bridge has been re-opened to traffic after it buckled on Thursday.
A steel cap supporting the deck was damaged, causing it to dip by about 10 inches.
Crews have been working 16-hour shifts to get the bridge deck repaired.
Thursday’s closure means drivers had to take a 90-minute detour via Highway 1. Single-lane alternating traffic is now moving over the span, with a 17-tonne weight restriction.
