MISSION (NEWS 1130) – A man has been taken to the hospital after a shooting in Mission overnight.
Mounties were called to reports of shots fired in the area of Dewdney Trunk Road near Mccoombs Street around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The 49-year-old man hurt suffered what the RCMP calls “serious gunshot wounds.”
With the help of the Integrated Police Dog Service, a 58-year-old man was taken into custody. Investigators say both men were known to each other and that they aren’t looking for any other suspects at this time.
“There is currently no information to suggest that this act was related to the Lower Mainland gang conflict,” a release reads, adding there’s no threat to the public.
